Swansea meeting, March 2018

We had another great meeting in Swansea for our second South Wales Asbestos Support Group meet-up of 2018, this time at the Railmens Club & Institute.

We were met by a large group of warm and friendly faces, both regular members and others attending for the first time.

This month, we were also joined by David Lloyd, a team member for Carolyn Harris, Member of Parliament for Swansea East.

David was with us to show his support, as well as give some great and helpful advice on how we can best move forward with our petition for reinstating compensation for pleural plaques.

We again had a chance to have a good chat with each other and discuss how we have all got on since the last meeting, and managed to fit in some food and drink amongst the chatter.

Always going forward

Following on from the success of the first two SWASG meetings of the year, we plan on maintaining our fantastic momentum with the petitition to reinstate compensation for pleural plaques, with perhaps more of a focus on local areas in the coming months.

If you would like to get involved with spreading the word about this petition and indeed the awareness of all asbestos-related illnesses, please join us at one of our upcoming meetings to find out how you can help.

The next meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, April 26. This will be a return to the Taffs Well Rugby Club – Maes Gwyn, Taffs Well, CF15 7JD.
