Our second SWASG meeting of 2017 is being held on Thursday the 23rd of February, and you can drop by any time between 12pm – 3pm.
The meeting will be held at Taffs Well Rugby Club (Maes Gwyn, Glan-Y-Llyn Square, Taffs Well, Cardiff, CF15 7JD).
Our meetings are a chance to talk to other people who understand what it is like to be told that you have an asbestos-related condition. There is always tea, coffee and something to eat, and family and friends are more than welcome to come too.
Feel free to drop in at any point throughout the meeting, even if it is just to show your support.
If you need to get in touch, or wish to ask some questions beforehand, you can give our group co-ordinator Eddie Gilbertson a ring on 07572 090 500, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Eddie made the trip over the Severn Estury earlier this month to attend the meeting of the Whitminster Mesothelioma Support Group (WMSG).
The group is organised by Gerry Slade, the first appointed Mesothelioma Specialist Nurse for Mesothelioma UK. Having relocated to the South West, Gerry is now an Ambassador for Mesothelioma UK and has set up the group aimed at supporting those suffering from mesothelioma and other asbestos related diseases and their families.
The group meetings are held at Whitminster Village Hall, south of Gloucester, and offer a friendly atmosphere. They meet once a month and enjoys a variety of visiting informative and helpful speaker.
Just like the SWASG, people are welcome to go along and join this friendly group and enjoy tea, coffee, biscuits, a speaker and an opportunity to chat … as well as a raffle!
